Anand Sreedharan, 50, died in the crash on Monday, Sept. 30, Maine State Police said in a news release on Wednesday, Oct. 2. It happened on I-95 South near milepost 240 in an unincorporated area about five miles south of the town of Medway.
Investigators said the moose crossed into Sreedharan's lane and was hit by the motorcycle. Sreedharan was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene.
The moose was also killed in the crash. Several other agencies helped troopers at the scene, which was about 50 minutes north of Bangor.
Sreedharan was born on Friday, June 28, 1974, according to his obituary from Ruby Memorial Funeral Home. His LinkedIn page said he most recently worked as a director of research IT engineering for Merck.
A visitation will be held for Sreedharan at Franklin Memorial Park on Route 27 in North Brunswick from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4. His funeral will also take place at the park from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.
The crash remained under investigation.
